The vision for Alpha is the (re)evangelization of the nations, the revitalization of the church and the transformation of society. Our mission is to serve the church in its mission to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. As a Christian organization our faith is an integral part of our working culture and each staff member is a member of a church or parish running Alpha. We are looking for two Alpha Youth Leads roles – one Catholic and one Protestant /Evangelical– for a fixed term 1 year contract from January 2022.

ROLE PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to catalyze the growth of Alpha Youth across the region, to develop and hold key relationships with Youth Leaders and Youth Networks and to support the regional and national teams in driving the Church Engagement Framework for Youth.
We anticipate that Alpha Latin America will have over 5,000 churches running Alpha by the end of 2022 with a focus on reaching teenagers and young people with the good news of Jesus. This role will play a key part in growing the work of Alpha serving teenagers with a goal, across both Leads, to activate 850 churches and parishes, 1,000 courses and 15,000 participants in the region to run Alpha for teenagers/youth next year.
With a passion for equipping the church in evangelization, the ideal candidate will be proactive in building relationships with church leaders and fostering unity within the body of Christ. They will have experience of speaking publicly to envision others and specifically church youth leaders. This person needs to influence with high levels of credibility with church youth leaders to drive new church growth and focus on retention of existing church partnerships.
As the driving force behind growing the number of churches running Alpha Youth in the region this role will work most closely with Church Youth Leaders. While reporting directly to the Alpha Youth Regional Director, this role is a part of the Regional Ministry Development Team lead by the Regional Ministry Development Director and supporting the work of growing Alpha with teenagers in each National Office and the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving the growth of the number of churches running Alpha Youth across all of the Church Engagement Framework (acquisition, training / train-the-trainer, strategic church investments) and regularly review progress in meeting growth goals

Delivering a regional ‘Alpha Youth Marathon’ to galvanise hundreds of churches in the region to run Alpha Youth in the same period of time to reaching 10,000 young people in the region.

Building and maintaining relationships with regard to the CEF for Alpha for Youth

Working closely and collaboratively with the whole Ministry Development and National Office teams.
