What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. It is made for local churches and based on hospitality, sharing and open conversations. Alpha is used worldwide by Christians from many denominations, providing a common expression of service and testimony. Millions of people have experienced Alpha in over 100 countries and 100 languages.

Whether in person with food or online with a cup of tea, all sessions begin with a time to connect, relax, and build friendships. Eating together creates a space where people connect more deeply.

The Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”

The discussion time is an opportunity for people to respond to the talk, hear from others and contribute their own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.

In - person
In churches, cafes, prisons, schools, at home—wherever people can gather—Alpha can be run.
They can enjoy a meal together, watch Alpha episodes, sit around a table, in a classroom or at home for an open and honest conversation.
Online
Did you know that Alpha can also be run online? We didn't know that! Until the 2020 pandemic, Alpha was done 100% in person. Now, churches throughout the Americas are running Alpha online for those who cannot meet in person.
