The directors of Alpha International have declared:
"Alpha International has always been willing to allow those running an Alpha International course the flexibility to make adaptations where necessary; allowing for local needs to be met where there is a desire to retain the essential elements, nature, and identity of this course. Experience has shown us that such cases have been misunderstood or misinterpreted, leading to a loss of integrity in some courses and significant confusion. Now that Alpha International's resources and publications are being used worldwide, we have been tasked with drafting a tighter copyright statement to preserve trust and quality control. We are confident you will understand."

1 With the exception of books (where the author declares their copyright), Alpha International owns resources including written material, audiovisual resources, and graphics that are protected by copyright, as well as any software from Alpha International. Alpha International's resources encompass a wide range of ministries, including Alpha and post-Alpha resources, the Marriage and Relationship Central Course, Worship Central, St. Paul's Theological Centre, and God at Work.

2 Under no circumstances and in no part of the world can Alpha International resources be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, or any information storage or retrieval system without the written permission of the copyright holder or their agent.

3 The use of Alpha International resources is permitted only in conjunction with the operation or promotion of Alpha International courses. Resale or obtaining payment in connection with any other use of Alpha International resources is not permitted.

4 Alpha International requests that the name "Alpha," or similar names, should not be used in connection with any other Christian course. This request is made to avoid confusion caused by differences between courses with similar titles, ensuring consistency and integrity within Alpha as an organization that maintains trust in the Alpha directory.

5 Alpha International accepts minor adaptations in Alpha International courses as long as they are deemed desirable. This may relate to the duration of talks or the number of sessions. In each case, it is essential that the character of the course is retained and protected.

If an Alpha International course is adapted, the person responsible must:

Use the course in their own church, parish, community, etc. They should not allow the course to be used elsewhere, nor permit the printing or advertising of such courses. This statement supersedes all previous statements regarding copyright on any resource, material, or course of Alpha International.
Revised in February 2014.
