At Alpha, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore the Christian faith. Our goal is to equip the church in its mission to share the Gospel through the Alpha course, a series of sessions that explore the Christian faith.

Over the last 25 years, we estimate that over 30 million people have participated in the course, in over 100 countries, and our hope is that by the end of 2033, at least 100 million people will have participated in an Alpha course and heard the good news of Jesus.

Role purpose

Alpha Latin America (LATAM) consists of a regional team and four National Alpha Offices (NAOs) across Latin America.

The purpose of this role is to catalyze the growth of Alpha Youth within Brazil as a National Alpha Office, developing and maintaining key relationships with youth leaders and youth networks, and supporting both the regional team and the Brazilian NAO in implementing the Church Engagement Framework for Youth.

With a passion for equipping the Church in evangelization, the ideal candidate will be proactive in building strong relationships with church leaders and fostering unity within the body of Christ. They will have experience speaking publicly to inspire and cast vision, particularly among youth leaders in Protestant churches. This person must influence with high levels of credibility in order to drive new church growth and strengthen existing church partnerships.

As the driving force behind increasing the number of churches running Alpha Youth in Brazil, this role will work closely with Protestant youth leaders across the country, reporting directly to the Regional Youth Manager and supporting the development of Alpha for teenagers within the Brazilian NAO.

The candidate will also engage at a regional level with leaders across Protestant denominations, bringing a proven track record as a strategic networker and influencer capable of promoting and facilitating collaboration throughout Latin America.

Key responsibilities

Drive the growth of churches running Alpha Youth across all aspects of the Church Engagement Framework (acquisition, training/train-the-trainer, strategic church investments) and regularly review progress in meeting growth goals.
Delivering a regional ‘Alpha Youth Marathon’ to galvanize hundreds of churches in Brazil to run Alpha Youth during the same period.
Building and maintaining relationships with regard to the CEF for Alpha for Youth.
Working closely and collaboratively with the entire Ministry Development and National Office teams, as well as the global Alpha Youth team.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Deep knowledge and experience of the Catholic Church and its context in Latin America
Ability to cast vision, inspire others, and clearly communicate vision, mission, strategy, and specific initiatives.
A highly capable, relational, and well-respected networker and trust builder.
Builder of sustainable strategies
Heart for evangelism and pastoral transformation.
Passionate about Alpha and Christian Unity.
A high-energy and experienced Christian leader with a strong vision for evangelism, who is passionate about Alpha as an effective tool to support the mission of the Church.
Strong understanding of Alpha and Alpha-related ministries.
Has existing influential relationships that will open new relationships for Alpha
Excellent peer relationship management.
Personal involvement and influence in a strategic church in the region, ideally a church that already runs Alpha and embraces the Alpha DNA.
Fluent written and spoken English

Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience

Should be based in a major Brazilian city.
Excellent computer literacy skills including Database/CRM (Salesforce)
Ability to travel
Experience with Youth.
An understanding of Alpha’s key audiences and the denominational diversity of the global church we serve.
Significant and recent exposure to Alpha.
