At Alpha, we believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith. It’s our aim to resource the church in its evangelistic mission through the Alpha course, a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith.
Over the last 25 years, we estimate that over 30 million people have participated in the course, in over 100 countries, and our hope is that by the end of 2033, at least 100 million people will have participated in an Alpha course and heard the good news of Jesus.

Role purpose

Alpha Latin America (LATAM) consists of a regional team and 4 National Alpha Offices (NAOs) across Latin America. The associate Ados director will help facilitate this goal by implementing the Alpha Ados strategy. Equipping regional Ados teams; Growing the Circles & Spaces youth leader community and engaging with youth ministry culture. This role will also include bringing oversight to our online and communication strategy. As LATAM Regional Associate Ados (catholic) Director you will connect at a regional level with leaders in the Catholic Church, having a proven track record as a strategic networker and influencer who can promote and facilitate cooperation across Latin america. You will have experience working closely with Bishops and senior church leaders, and ideally will have existing connections within the Vatican.

Key responsibilities

Identifies and assesses complex problems for their own area of responsibility and recommends appropriate solutions.
In close collaboration with Directors and Coordinators or entity heads, contributes to decisions which impact the organisation as a whole.
Establishes the strategy and objectives for their own area or department.
Operates as Alpha Ados brand ambassador, communicating at events and via other platforms as an informed youth Catholic voice on the value and impact of Alpha Ados within the Catholic Church.
Uses subject-matter expertise and a high level of proficiency to further develop their own area

Strategically partner with key youth influencers and leaders at conferences to ensure that Alpha values, story and product is the leading evangelistic product for teens.
Raise the commitment and passion to Ados evangelism in each Alpha Latam region.
Support and equip Alpha Ados leaders across the region.
Strategically multiply our impact by investing in partnerships with Ados ministries and church networks.
Strategically develop engagement with the youth in Catholic churches around the region.
Grow the Circles & Spaces youth leaders network.
Oversee non payroll Ados budget.
Key duties:
Support Key Alpha Ados product initiatives
Oversee the development of storytelling across the region
Represent Alpha Ados at key events and conferences. Speaking experience is needed.
Coach, train and equip regional leaders on the best Ados practices for strategy and influence in their nations. Key Accountabilities.
Invest in key partnerships for Alpha Ados Regional.
Oversight of Alpha Ados Safeguarding Regional.
Collaborate with and equip regional and NAO Ados staff to create and implement effective strategies for Church engagement, share best practices, pray, and create and share training and promotional resources.

Deep knowledge and experience of the Catholic Church and its context in LATAM
Ability to cast vision, inspire others, and to clearly communicate around vision, mission, strategyand specific initiatives
A highly capable, relational and well-respected networker and trust builder.

Passionate about Alpha and Christian Unity
A high-energy and experienced Christian leader, with a strong vision for evangelism, who is passionate about Alpha as an effective tool to support the mission of the Church.
Good knowledge of Alpha and Alpha related ministries
Has existing influential relationships that will open new relationships for Alpha
Excellent peer relationship management
Personal involvement and influence in a strategic church in the region, ideally a church that already runs Alpha and embraces the Alpha DNA.
Fluent written and spoken English

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

Should be based in a key city that is of interest to other cities within the region.
Excellent computer literacy skills including Data Base/CRM (Salesforce)
Ideally able to speak/understand Portuguese
Ability to travel
Understanding of Alpha’s key audiences and the denominational spread of the global church which we serve.
Significant and recent exposure to Alpha.

Characteristics Needed

Has a personal faith in Jesus that embraces the Alpha DNA.
High emotional intelligence plus relational and communication skills, in both English and Spanish, to engage with influencers, senior church leaders.
A deep conviction that Alpha is an essential tool for evangelisation and revitalisation in the local church.
Love for the church, passion for unity and a willingness to work with all Christian denominations and followers of Christ.
High energy with a growth mindset and a “Can-do” attitude with a clear desire to both set and then reach stretch goals, leading the team to do likewise.

Work environment and expectations

Mon-Fri: Standard Hours 9.00am - 05.00pm.
20 working days holiday per annum
3 month probationary period
Full-time with availability of weekend event schedules, or holiday evenings
